just spent the evening schmoozing with the mayor. she's cool. i also did my first ever stint as a wait person. easy when there are only 30 people there. pleased that it has taken this long to do it.
tomorrow i'm involved in interviewing new employees. i know it's probably not going to be as exciting as it sounds but it'll be good experience. plus a day out of the classroom. my students are being shits so i'm looking forward to it.
when did peter fitzsimons switch from rugby player to author? i thought they were supposed to be fick boofheads...(well a certain wellington winger who hails from auckland certainly is...you have to turn him round at half time).

Back in the days before professional rugby, players like Fitzsimons had day jobs, and were generally better educated and mroe scholastically capable than they are these days...David Kirk is a good example, All Black Captain and Rhodes Scholar.
