Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing

a bird flew into my window today

so i'm not quite sure what today's topic should be. i haven't put my title yet so i'll see where this writing takes me. i do agree with whoever said that everyone has a novel in them. i wrote a story when i was 8 about priscilla mouse. it was epic. not sure what happened to it. i think it was thrown out. i still regret that. also, my cousin and i spent our holidays writing poems once and i think she kept them. i won a prize at school for a poem i wrote once. so i must have some writing talent somewhere. i am going to write something other than the 5000 word essays i have to write for university, just not sure what i'm going to write about.

i decided on the heading for today's entry (not that anyone will read it, no one has yet, i live in hope that one day someone will). a bird flew into my laundry window today. it was a bit stunned so i picked it up off the ground and put it on my fence. i have a cat so i locked him inside. i checked every so often and eventually it wasn't there so it must've flown away so i trust it is ok. i think it was a thrush. i just spent a week with a person who adores birds, especially fantails. i think she'd be pleased with my response.

New Year Blah...

So for New Year's I was in London. That was kinda cool. Literally as it is winter up there. The tube was free til 4am so there were lots of drunk people riding it. I would've hated being the person who had to clean all the vomit off the carriages ready for the fee paying public.

I have made some resolutions. They are the same ones I make every year. This time I'm going to be proactive about trying to achieve them. The theme for 2008 is change.

It's now December

So, it's now December. It's Christmas Time (to quote a famous 80s pop song, I love the 80s by the way), but I haven't done any Christmas shopping cos I'm going on a big holiday, to the other side of the world. I think I'm excited about it but I also hate spending money (thanks Dad for the Scottish ancestry!!). Should be fantastic, as some people have said to me, but I have to keep reminding them that I am paying for it. It has cost me money. So quit telling me I'm lucky. You pay my bills. So there. But. What else would I spend my savings on. Spending it on the mortgage is SO boring.

Camp

i'm back from camp and that's all i have to say about it.

Camp looms

Camp. This four letter word now looms large. It is only a weekend away. I don't want to go! I am incredibly tired as it is without nights of little sleep. I also have reports to write. The only thing keeping me sane is the thought that after next week the only thing I will have to worry about is keeping the little "darlings" under control for three more weeks. Then they will be their parent's problem and after that half of them will be the High School's problem!

I'm off to have a drink now. I'm preparing for next week. I hope I survive. Wish me luck (all none of you!)

one week left

so it's now one week till camp. some of you (ie no one as no one reads this!) may find this unexciting but it is the dominant feature in my life at the moment. that and reports. i am working my butt off. it is a shame that i am not literally working it off though! less butt would be nice.

sports update. black caps (NZ cricket team) still suck. we were all out for 187 in the second test and one of our batsmen has a very beat up face. as our bowlers suck south africa will make a huge total and we will lose by heaps. of course by saying this i hope they do the opposite and win big time. silver ferns (NZ netball team) are in the final against aussie but if we play like we did last night we will lose by heaps. all blacks (i hope most of you know who they are) haven't started a new season yet but we are now in the process of picking a new coach. i don't care yet until rugby season when i will forgive them for being crap.
