It's now December

So, it's now December. It's Christmas Time (to quote a famous 80s pop song, I love the 80s by the way), but I haven't done any Christmas shopping cos I'm going on a big holiday, to the other side of the world. I think I'm excited about it but I also hate spending money (thanks Dad for the Scottish ancestry!!). Should be fantastic, as some people have said to me, but I have to keep reminding them that I am paying for it. It has cost me money. So quit telling me I'm lucky. You pay my bills. So there. But. What else would I spend my savings on. Spending it on the mortgage is SO boring.

Camp

i'm back from camp and that's all i have to say about it.

Camp looms

Camp. This four letter word now looms large. It is only a weekend away. I don't want to go! I am incredibly tired as it is without nights of little sleep. I also have reports to write. The only thing keeping me sane is the thought that after next week the only thing I will have to worry about is keeping the little "darlings" under control for three more weeks. Then they will be their parent's problem and after that half of them will be the High School's problem!

I'm off to have a drink now. I'm preparing for next week. I hope I survive. Wish me luck (all none of you!)

one week left

so it's now one week till camp. some of you (ie no one as no one reads this!) may find this unexciting but it is the dominant feature in my life at the moment. that and reports. i am working my butt off. it is a shame that i am not literally working it off though! less butt would be nice.

sports update. black caps (NZ cricket team) still suck. we were all out for 187 in the second test and one of our batsmen has a very beat up face. as our bowlers suck south africa will make a huge total and we will lose by heaps. of course by saying this i hope they do the opposite and win big time. silver ferns (NZ netball team) are in the final against aussie but if we play like we did last night we will lose by heaps. all blacks (i hope most of you know who they are) haven't started a new season yet but we are now in the process of picking a new coach. i don't care yet until rugby season when i will forgive them for being crap.

took me long enough

so, it took me sooooooooooooo many attempts to log in. Not sure if that's cos I'm thick or NZ is just slow cos it's sunday.

Not much excitement here in the warren. Two weeks til camp. 70 12-13 year olds. Fun!(?) Not sure yet. I have been on Camp before but I've never been the One In Charge. There will be 10 other adults so adult company isn't a problem. I hope the kids are too busy and tired to get up to mischief. I also hope that no one pukes on the bus. Vomit makes my stomach go out in sympathy! Still have their reports to write too. They better be nice to me that's all I can say.

So to my other favourite topic. Sport. (1) The Kiwis. I'm not a League fan, but NZ sucks! Get some spine and some passion boys! (2) The Black Caps. A few years ago, some people decided in their infinite wisdom to call our cricket team this. We are dire. We suck so bad, to the max. I remember the 80s when we ruled. No stupid nick names then. Just called the New Zealand Cricket team. We were awesome. Let's ditch the stupid name. (3) The All Blacks. They are in disgrace until the Rugby season. Then I will forgive them and support them again. I always do. (4) Netball. Go the Silver Ferns!

So that's me for now. Hope someone reads this. I live in hope. I read an article today that said be patient. In these days of instant gratification I find this a challenge. To quote Blackadder the 2nd Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

i have a busy weekend

in three weeks i am taking 70 12-13 year olds on camp. so this weekend i have to finish the camp stuff we have to do with them to make sure they are prepared. i also have to mark some essays and write their reports. so basically what that means is no weekend for me. i'm not gonna get any free time to read my book. you really have to love your job to give up your weekends!

so, i should be more persistent and i'll keep writing. someone may be interested in what i have to say. it may take some time though. i'm gonna hang on in there. please say something..!@!..!!

by the way, it's not that late here. only 2249 and no one knocked on my door for hallowe'en which is good cos i hate telling those begging kids to go away. bah humbug!
